I'm going to Costa Rica!

You may remember that I was an alternate for Mobility International's 2007 US/Costa Rica: Youth Leadership and Cross-Cultural Perspectives on Disability Rights Exchange Program. I am so excited because I got a call that a spot opened up for me, and I'll be joining the group! I'll leave for Houston on June 19, then an orientation, then fly to Costa Rica for 16 days.
Lots to do to get ready on such short notice. I've been working on my neck pain and it is feeling better, but I'll be working for it to improve more over the next week.

Thanks, Ruth. And thank you for wishing me well with the care of my neck.

congratulations! I remember when you were a bit bummed that you were selected as a primary for the position, but as an alternate. I think all of your comments mentioned something about maybe someone not being able to go and you would be able to fill the slot being an alternate! I'm happy for you that it worked out that way! Have fun!

Wow, congratulations! I'm sending my 17 year old son off for 4 weeks on June 18th, so I'll be thinking about you, too. I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time and will come back with lots of fodder for the blog.

hey this is great (¡chévere!) and i wish you well and "pura vida" (this is a thing Ticos or Costa Ricans say; it means a lot of different stuff. i knew some Ticos and they told me about this phrase). i do hope you will make this a travellogue, but perhaps you won't have time, and that would be totally understandable. Latin America tends to have lots of cybercafés in cities, but i don't know how many are accessible. (~_~)
